10-Beat ±1 min. a month
One year after the launch of the Grand Seiko 10-beat high precision model '61GS' in 1968, a super high precision version, the 'Very Fine Adjusted' was created. It was known as '61GS V.FA.' and it explored the farthest limits of accuracy in a mechanical watch, delivering a monthly rate of ±one minute. Much of the technology and skill in accuracy learned through participation in the Swiss Observatory competitions was used in its development. This is the day date version of 61GS V.F.A. and was launched in 1972. It is designed in the 'Grand Seiko Style' which was established in 1967, and has defined the look of all subsequent Grand Seiko designs. The Grand Seiko Style expresses the Japanese sense of beauty with wide, highly polished smooth surfaces and the subtle interplay of light and shadow.
