Special exhibition : The View with the clocks ―the street corners in Europe―

We are pleased to announce that we will hold a special photograph exhibition, “The View with the clocks ―the street corners in Europe―” to commemorate the Time Memorial Day in Japan on June 10th.
Period: From June 6th (Tue) to July 16th (Sun)
Place: First basement floor
In this special exhibition, 26 clock towers in European towns are introduced along with the features and the design of the clock towers and automaton which show the historical and cultural backgrounds. Please come to this especial exhibition to feel the lives of the people and the history of these towns from the beautiful pictures of the clock towers.

Katsuhiro Sasaki is the curator emeritus of National Museum of Nature and Science in Japan specialized in the history of science and technology such as development of time measurement, Japanese traditional clocks and the time system in Japan. He has written many theses on the Japanese traditional clocks. He is also well known for his variety of hobbies such as playing glass harp and boomerang.
