From the very first eight-day wall clock made by Seikosha to the introduction of quartz timepieces that changed global standards, as technology advances, Seiko has continued to produce products that lead the way into the future. Here we present some of Seiko’s key products, while looking back on the company’s history.

Chase the World

Seikosha started manufacturing wall clocks in 1892 and proceeded to pursue the miniaturization of timepieces, producing pocket watches, and then Japan’s first wristwatch.

Challenging the world once more

After the war, Seiko improved quality by preparing the necessary production facilities and promoting technological development. Timepieces became something close and familiar to people and demand increased dramatically.

Reach the world

During Japan’s period of sudden economic growth, under the slogan “Seiko of the world,” Seiko pressed forward in the pursuit of even greater precision of timepieces, as well as the diversification of its products.

The world selects the Seiko method

In 1969, Seiko launched the world’s first quartz wristwatch, the Quartz Astron, which had a profound effect on the international timepiece market.
