The world’s first portable quartz clock, the 'Crystal Chronometer', used as the master clock for the longer track and field races at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The outstanding performance of this clock revolutionized the field of sports timing. It spurred the development of new technologies, including a temperature compensator and a small low-power synchronization motor fabricated by precision machining techniques for timepieces.
