Super

The first wrist watch model of Seiko with a center-second hand mounted concentrically along with the minute and hour hands. Earlier Seiko watches were designed with a small second hand located at the 6 o'clock position.

Name Super
Time/Period 1950
Additional information The center second hand required a departure from the existing transmission wheel system to a whole new wheel design from scratch. This product marked the advent of a full-blown era of watches with center second hands in Japan. A large case type and square type were produced later in the Super series.
