Additional information The "vertical clutch," a mechanism for transmitting power while eliminating the distinct jump of the chronograph second hand at the start of a measurement, was the traditional mechanism first introduced by Seiko in its automatic winding chronograph released in 1969. For high accuracy, a pillar wheel mechanism ensuring secure movement is adopted for the operation mechanism.
