The Grand Seiko Museum introduces the history of over 60 years of Grand Seiko, Japan's leading luxury
wristwatch brand, along with over 100 historical products.
The museum is a place where visitors can experience
the world of Grand Seiko's brand philosophy, "The Nature of Time," which is to pursue the "essence of
watchmaking" through Japanese aesthetics and spirituality.

世界に誇れる国産最高級の腕時計をつくる
1960年、世界に誇れる高精度で高品質な腕時計を作るという確固たる信念のもと、グランドセイコーは誕生しました。それまでに培ってきた時計技術の粋を結集し、「正確で、見やすく、美しい」腕時計の本質を高い次元で追求する歴史がここから始まります。
Creating a world-class Japanese watch of the highest quality
In 1960, the first Grand Seiko was born from the firm conviction to create a world-class, high-accuracy, high-quality watch. This is the beginning of our history of bringing together the best in watch technology that we have cultivated over the years. It is our high-level pursuit of the essential qualities of wristwatches: accuracy, legibility, and beauty.

最高級の腕時計をつくる挑戦の歴史
1964年、新たに実用性能が大さく進化した「クランドセイコーセルフデーター」が誕生します。1966年には高い精度を追求した「グランドセイコー規格」を制定し、1967年には「グランドセイコースタイル」というデザイン文法を編み出して、グランドセイコーは唯一無二のブランドとして進化発展していきます。
The history of striving to create the highest quality watches
In 1964, the Grand Seiko Self-Dater was created, with greatly improved practical performance. In 1966, the Grand Seiko Standard was established to pursue high accuracy, and in 1967, a design philosophy called the Grand Seiko Style was devised. Under this standard and this philosophy, Grand Seiko continues to evolve and develop as a unique brand.

The World of Grand Seiko that has Expanded in Various Ways
Grand Seiko's history includes many historically relevant products in aiming to be the pinnacle of watches. In particular, from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, there was great expansion not only of base models, but also many iterations of Grand Seiko presenting a variety of designs and expressions of beauty. In this area, about 70 valuable and rare products are exhibited.
